Daily Dose of Disdain
I had the Animals 8-track in my first car. It was not really a favorite of mine.I like several selections from Wish..., The Wall, and, of course Dark Side..., but Waters' political leanings don't generally resonate with me.
I know, everybody always says that about his pro-Palestinian stance, but the thing is, he doesn't really get along with his bandmates either. My guess it's basically an ego issue attached to some kind of white guilt. However, I've always been a fan. Also huge fan of David Gilmour. But I also liked the Electric Prunes and Ultimate Spinach, so what could I possibly know about anything? I'm just here for the girls.
While in Austin on contract, I purchased tickets for my team and rented a limo to take us to the Roger Waters concert -- Radio Kaos tour. Great time & he didn't talk politics but he did say he was just a musician so what did he know about anything else? Not much. However, the final song on Radio Kaos is The Tide is Turning which I think refers to the "Woke" folks - who are progressives that claim to know more than you. After all, they have science on their side. That attitude disturbs me, like when someone says, the argument has been settled, the science is indisputable. My side is right and your side is stupid. On the other hand, Jeff Beck performs some of the finest guitar work I've ever heard on Water's album Amused to Death -- one of my personal all time favorites.
In this song, Waters the commie divides people into 3 types: pigs, sheep, and dogs. Which are u?
D, Wolves are not one of the 3 choices, but I get what you're trying to say. I think maybe you're a werewolf anyway. I can go out back during the night and howl at the moon and start up dogs up and down the valley, for bloody miles! It's funny. I've been told recently my "spirit animal" is a black jaguar, a panther. Waiting for car comment in 1... 2... 3...
Well, you wouldn't expect me to be hemmed in by just the choices offered. Heck, I'm even a bit reluctant to be only a wolf...maybe part bison, too. Steadfast, resolute.About 25+ years ago, I hung an art print of a lone bison on the prairie in my office (the prairie wasn't in my office), keeping his own counsel, strong against the elements. When I left that job, my employer gifted me with that piece, which is now in my den.
I know some pigs down in Texas. Texas has more of 'em than you'd guess. I have experience with pig-hunting.
